If copying - moving data increases the risk of errors. Why have an Incoming folder that files are then moved out of - another error step? How are the files moved & verified? I'm missing the steps, stage(s). I've looked on the site & have the book.

When you 'move' a file from one folder to another on THE SAME drive it is not realy moved. Only the reference table is changed, so there is nothing to verify realy, the file has not changed.
However, when moving to another drive, then it's important to check/verivy with Syncback for instance.
