Marc, I've gone back to ImageIngester 5 for the moment. I wanted to post a note here for anyone who is putting this into production.
First, I have to note how much I have come to depend on this application in only a few short weeks. Faced with a manual download/backup/rename/Apply ACR default, or retrograde to version 5, there was no choice. These are exactly the functions a computer was designed to do.
That said, here are my issues: Biggest issue, the ACR defaults are not compatible with RapidFixer, which is an indication that they are not written exactly right. I suspect there is data in the saved ACR XMP file that is would be parsed out by ACR, but that II is applying to the XMP file. The setup I had in version 5 was working fine, so I've gone back to it. I have not looked at it to see if I can determine the problem.
Second Issue, the rename is giving me a bug. When I edit the presets (what is that stuff, javascript?) I am getting an errant _h (which translates into a digit for hours in the date string of the filename). I can't seem to get rid of it when I am set to use the original unique identifier, although it disappears when I use sequence number.
Third issue. I'm getting a download target bug (or user error). I set the preferences to target a new external drive for the primary, and when it runs, it continues to target the previously designated primary, on the powerbook's internal. FWIW, the running log will show the real place the download is going.
I'm wondering if I should trash my preferences (I have 4 or 5 sets saved).
For those of you who have never beta tested, this is a classic dilemma. You get to use new software that can really add to productivity, but sometimes there are glitches. You weigh that against forgoing the software entirely for real production. At this point, I like this application so much, I am willing to put up with it. Marc is thoughtful enough to keep older betas on the site, so you can revert if you want to.
Normally, I would email this directly to Marc, but I know a lot of you are experimenting with this application, and I wanted to post this note publicly.
