Peter,
Are you saying that Portfolio can't write metadata into the DNG file so that it is visible by other apps? If so, that certainly is a significant disappointment.

Peter,
Well I guess I'm going to have to use Bridge for adding all my 'public' metadata to the DNG files and Portfolio for all the 'private' metadata. That might not be a major problem since I was intending to try and exploit a basic metadata template during the ingestion process for new images. Such a template would add all the normal IPTC creator and copyright stuff. I'm not quite sure yet what else belongs in the 'public' metadata category.
