So.. about these folder names -

The downloaded files are renamed and go into folders that indicate the first/last sequence numbers.
After they have been processed and converted to DNG, the converted files go into buckets.

Question:  The buckets do not necessarily contain sequentially dated file names, or must they?  I ask because in my workflow, some downloaded, renamed files are not processed immediately, while others coming later are.  And these newer ones reach the DNG stage and are put into the last bucket available, say DNG_123_xxxxxx.  Later, the "older" downloaded files are processed and eventually find their way (the DNGized versions) into a newer bucket, say DNG_124_xxxx.

Your workflow is a lot like mine, with respect to timeframe.  I see no problems with what you outline.
