ellis,
The advantage is saved space.  I don't know the extent of any disadvantage.   I assume that anyone who can read a DNG can read a compressed one as well, but I don't know that for a fact.  Can anyone with a DNG-aware third-party converter check this? (Aperture, RSP, Silkypix, etc.)

Peter et. al.,

Yes RSP can read DNG and compressed DNG files, HOWEVER both type of DNG file have a HORRID green colar cast that needs to be corrected with the WB eyedropper.  I guess this is a RSP issue, but gives me pause to thing about converting files to DNG if I'm going to use DNG.  Also wanted to make sure there is no downside to losseless dng conversions

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Reid

Ask RSP.  I head they had occasional trouble with rendering DNG files.  I believe they have said it's their bug.
