keywords vs people

Any thoughts on whether to enter subject names in keyword set or the people set in either bridge or iview? Are there any file management issues with using one over the other?

Oliver, There is some discussion about this on the iView part of the forum. Here's what I do.
When doing Bulk Metadata in Bridge, I will add a keyword for the person pictured, if I can do it as Bulk Metadata (All pictures are of that person, or are related to that person, like a party in honor of that person.)
When I move to iView, I will use catalog sets to do the organizing, since it supports hierarchies.

Thanks Peter.
I understand from your book that whether the keyword is under "keywords" or "people" in bridge it gets written into the metadata in the same way. Do you use the "people", "places" categories or do you just put everything in keywords and then delete those sets or keywords as they get old or obsolete?

Oliver,
The "People" field in Bridge is actually the IPTC "Contact" field. It is not the "Keywords" field. For a comparison of fields between applications, check out Appendix C of the iView MediaPro User's Manual. I actually use both the "People" field and the "Keywords" field in Bridge to annotate people that are close to me, such as familiy members or close friends. However, I recommend taking Peter's advice and only annotate what you can do in bulk or quickly in Bridge; save the rest for the catalog manager.
