New computer help
«

I currently own an iMac 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5 with 16GB of memory. This computer serves as both the family computer and the computer we do our photography work on. I am contemplating buying a computer that is just dedicated for photography work, but the budget is tight. Should your photography work be done on a clean machine (no email, music, etc....) that is dedicated to photography alone?
Thanks,
Chris

Yes a dedicated machine would be good, but I dont think it is absolutely needed, it depends on how many people are using it, who wants to use the machine for what at the same time, ie someone wants to check e-mail, while the other wants to download photos, there could be problems, then a separate machine workstation may work better. Are there children in the home who use the computer as well?
