Canon DPP to Lightroom

I'm trying to use Canon DPP on my laptop then import to Lightroom when I get home. (DPP works better on a low spec'd laptop). Anyone had any success with this? I've tried contacting Canon, but they say they don't support Lightroom. My changes do not seem to travel with the files. Is there another stage? LR has an update DNG when moving DNG's between programs. I don't think DPP supports DNG.
