I've banged my head against the wall enough. I'm running LR 3.4.1 on Mac OS X 10.6.7 and I can't get the Develop module defaults reset to Adobe defaults so my photos will import as Process 2010. The problem seems to be that my Develop default for Brightness is set to +58 instead of +50. I've tried the following to get it reset to +50 but with no success.

1) Changed Brightness to +50 for an image. Clicked Develop/Set Default Settings/Update to Current Settings. I did NOT restart LR, I just imported another photo. After import I switched to the Develop module and found Brightness still set to +58 and Process version still 2003.

2) I've tried "Reset all default Develop settings" on the Preset tab in Preferences. That also didn't work, probably because my default Develop settings is stuck with Brightness +58 and I can't get it to change.

One thing I did notice. Once I import and switch to the Develop module, if I select Settings/Reset all Settings the brightness changes to +50 and the Process to 2010, so SOMEWHERE is saving the +50 value, it just isn't using it on import.

Also, my Apply During Import settings for both Develop and Metadata are set to none.

Thoughts?
