I just ordered a copy of the Dam book and anxiously await its arrival.

I also downloaded the iViewPro 2 trial software and have played with it quite a bit and have some questions about it which I would appreciate any views on.

1. I find great similarities between the iView software and the Bridge from Adobe CS2. I wonder  if  you might shed some light on whether there are real advantages to the iView over the bridge.

2. I do not find a good description of the differences between the basic and pro versions of iView.

It is certainly true that managing all the files generated within a workflow process is a challenging task.
Thank you for any assistance that you can provide.

1. If you are a photographer with many images to manage, then iView is a superior product.  Much of this is covered in the book, but the basic difference is that Bridge is a Browser, and must go look for file to tell you about it. iView is a cataloging application, and keeps an internal record of information about the file.  This helps with regard to speed, and really helps in the tasks you do to MANAGE the files.  You can see offline files, and iView can really help you if you need to recover from hard drive failure, for instance.

2. It depends.  Are you a pro?  Do you have a large library of images?  Do you shoot RAW?  Personally, I would go for the pro version, but depending on your answers, possibly the regular version would work.

BTW, did you realize you get a discount if you buy through my site?
