Catalog sets vs Keywords vs Hierarchical Keywords

Hi there,
After reading the book, I've spend a few weeks re-organizing my personal photographic archive and starting to use iView to catalog them. I am still in the beginning of cataloging my photos, so I am only setting the location and the people in them.
What is yet not very clear to me is the different cases you'd prefer using a set, a keyword or an hierarchical keyword. I'd be curious to find out various examples of the different information you guys store in each one of these three different types of grouping methods.
What I have in mind at the moment and I'd like to verify with you, is that catalog sets are my private grouping method, while keywords will at some point be emended into the file and other will be able to access as well so I have to be more thoughtful.
Any input or a link to a similar thread would be highly appreciated.

General rules of thumb:
Use Keywords (or Hierarchical Keywords) for content-specific tagging.
Use Catalog Sets to create usage-specific groups (e.g. for a Web gallery, print, etc.)
There's a good thread on this topic at the official
Expression Media forum
