Bridge Metadata not showing up in iView

I know that when I add metadata in iView Media Pro 3 that I need to synchronize the Annotations to the file before they will show up in Bridge. However, when I add the material in Bridge I thought it WAS being written to the file right away. I'm working through the book and I've created a metadata template in Bridge and applied it to files, but the annotations (copyright, etc.) are not showing up in iView. I have updated the iView Folders. What am I doing wrong?

You need to provide a few more details.  What formats are you working with.  Have the images been cataloged with iView and then you make Bridge notations, or were the notations made and then the files cataloged?
