I've been using Expression Media for many years - but still new to LR's DAM capabilities.

i wanted to know all dates that i took photos in France, over the past 10 years.

in EM2, i do this:

- in the Place Finder list i select "France"
- the Date Finder list now HIGHLIGHTS every date that has images for FRANCE  (if a year is collapsed, the YEAR will be highlighted, if i expand the YEAR, the relevant MONTHS will be highlighted, if i expand the MONTH, the actual dates will be highlighted)

so, within a few seconds, i can get this information with a few clicks

can i do this in LR 2.7?  LR 3.x?  how?

thks!

for complete accuracy - i left out an EM step:

after selecting "France", i need to do a "select" on all the France thumbnails now shown to activate the Date highlighting.

thks,

In LR I would just reveal the Library Filter Panel '\' and set the first column to country, then set the second to date.
