How to use EM2 to transfer to Blu Ray

I know how to do the computer transfer, but I'm not clear how to indicate to EM2 that the files are now on a disc, rather than a drive.  Do I use Export or right click and point to a new place?  For all of Peter's helpful videos, I don't see how he does this specific operation.

Hello Vaughn,

I only have my files on harddrives but I would burn the BD, keep the disc in the computer, open EM2 and point to the files on the BD. The moment you take the BD out of the computer EM2 will recognize it and indicate that when you open the catalog.

As said, I have not done that yet because I only use harddrives but that should work.

So you are burning to Blu-raay and wiping from the hard drive?
I generally don't do that, and I suggest that optical disc should be used for backup only, rather than as primary storage.

Peter, not quite.  I still have the files on a hard drive, but I'd like one set that's immune to hard drive failure.  You do raise a question.  If I keep the files in EM pointing to the drive, how do I find the files on the BluRay discs?

By maintaining a matching folder structure - so the bucket system but with 25gb buckets.

Alternatively, maybe consider dedicating a custom field to BD#.
