On page 368 of the DamBook2 it talks about John Beardsworth's add on XMP templates that create Expression Media information while in Bridge.  I went to the site - downloaded and installed his scripts exactly as he directs and ... nothing.  His scripts work, but the directions for installing his panels are obtuse and at the end of it I see no additional panels.  His directions give the following path for WinXP "C:\Documents and Settings\John\Application Data\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\2.0\panels\Expression Media\"  I created this path, and then dumped all the info in there - EXCEPT I USED my normal user name instead of "John".  I assume this is correct - as I will not be logging in as John.

So, is there an additional step to getting these to work?  Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Chris Kelly

That should all work. The only extra step would be to re-open Bridge and go into the File Info panel. Are you sure you've used the right version?

What version should I be using?  And I hate to ask a stupid question, but I am looking for it in the Metadata section on the left side when in Metadata mode in the main screen.  Where is the File Info panel?

Thank you,

Hi John,

I can't get this to work in CS5. I made the edits at the start of the script:

#target bridge-4.0
if ( app.name == "bridge"  && app.version[0] == '4' )

And the script doesn't cause any error when I launch Bridge, but there's no EM2 panel. For files where I have EM2 metadata, I can see the metadata in the 'Raw Data' panel and can see the 'Mediapro' and 'Expressionmedia' schemas in the 'Advanced' panel.

Oh, I'm on Windows XP SP3 and Bridge 4.0.3.9

Any ideas?

Hello,

Will these panels work in CS 5, and if so what's the correct install path for Win 7 64?

Thanks,

Alan
