 Undecided
Working in Bridge and Photoshop CS4 on a MacPro using 10.6.3
I start by highlighting  the photo in Bridge and applying metadata. Then I
open the photo in Camera Raw 5.6 and make modifications. If I choose DONE, the metadata stays with the file.  If ,  instead , I choose to
open the image or open a copy of the image in Photoshop, then check  the File Info submenu , the camera exif is present but none of the applied metadata is present.
Moreover, if  I apply any changes to the image and then want to save the new derivative image , cliking on the the SAVE or SAVE AS command,  the image that is generated does not have either camera data (EXIF) , nor any of the applied metadata.
Is there a way of having at least the applied metadata follow the photo file thurout this process of creating a new , derivative, image?

Amada,

I haven't tested this, but I believe what you've stated should be working.  Are you by chance using a newer camera that ACR 5.6 might not know about?  I'm assuming you are working with Raw files and their sidecars, correct?

I am having the exact same problem with the same configuration:
MacPro, OSX 10.5.8, ACR 5.6 and Photoshop and Bridge CS4.
Using a Canon 5D. so it is not just a fluke. The applied metadata is not copying through.

Amada,
I just tested and the metadata vame through.  Not sure I'm doing exactly the same thing you are doing.
How are you applying the metadata in Bridge?  A Template?  If you apply and then open without ging through Camera Raw, does it work?
Can you make a really simple metadata template - maybe with just a single keyword - and see if it still happens?

I found that I could solve the problem by simply resetting the II defaults in the Content Metadata Template panel.
