camera profiling

Thanks for bringing that to my attention.  I just looked up my White Lightning modeling lamps.  They too are 3200K Quartz at 250W.  Looks like we're both in good shape with our units.  I think this is something you should check first though.

Always good to check. Most makers of flash gear attempt to make the modeling lights consistent as they know that many use them as dual purpose continuous/flash light sources.

I'll let the comment about  our "units being in good shape" go : )

I can see where someone may end up with numerous profiles in their Camera Raw/Camera Profiles folder.  Am I assuming correct that when you save metadata to a DNG file in Lightroom, that the user generated camera color profile file in use for that DNG file is not saved to the DNG file?

My thoughts got side tracked - the first sentence relates to the question as I take it you should not delete user generated camera profiles unless you are sure the profile is not being used or don't care if it is.

Mark,
One of the best reasons to use DNG is that the profile gets embedded. When you save metadata to the file, the profile is added.
This is essential for people who make custom camera profiles.  Use of the DNG is nearly essential if you want to preserve the look of your images.
