For example, say you have portraits in your portfolio, that include portraits of three people (X, Y and Z).  You would probably have keywords for each of the three people.  Would you also have a general keyword "portrait" for all 3?

The answer to that would have a lot to do with what the pictures are of, and why the keywords are there.

If it's 3 people from Company X, maybe there would only be a keyword Company X.  If it's my two daughters, maybe I'd add a keyword for Family>Krogh, or maybe a keyword would be added for each daughter when I am making a slideshow for each one's birthday.

If you were submitting to a stock agency, then you would want a keyword for each person.

It all depends on how you might want to be able to find the pictures in the future.
