I've been told that Microsoft Digital Image Suite includes several image editing features developed by Microsoft research.
In particular, Parchworks and Blender.

Can anyone who uses the software confirm?

Thanks,
Alex.

I still have Digital Image Suite 10, which I keep around for a few archived images. It does have a "Smart Erase" function, which could possibly be using Patchworks from Microsoft Research. I'm not sure about Blender, though. There's nothing in the copyright info that explicitly mentions technology from Microsoft Research.

The Digital Image Suite line of products is no longer available from Microsoft, and since January is no longer supported. One other thing to be aware of is that the editor, Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10, will actively strip out metadata from any image that it touches, as I discovered to my cost...
