Retaining Sequence Number when Renaming on Import

My filename convention includes a unique numerical sequence.
Is there a way to get the Import from Camera script to remember the numbering sequence so that the next import will carry on the sequnce from where the last import finished?

To my knowledge, IFC does not support that feature. In order to support that iView would have to store that information either in an O/S environment variable or a data file for successive runs. I don't believe it does that. Peter, correct me if I'm wrong.

Can't remember offhand...
Would not be hard to test, but I'm on the way to Seattle to give a lecture this morning.

There are no obvious ways to get the script to retain a number, I was wondering if there might be a "behind-the-scenes" option that I could enable. I'm guessing it's not that simple but it's not a huge problem, I'll simply keep a text file nearby and update that each time I import.

Sounds like a good work-around.

I believe that iView remembers where you left off in sequence, if you use its renaming function.
