IPTC Location Metadata: Core & Extension - What to Do?

I see that with the introduction of the IPTC Extension spec, the Location metadata fields in the IPTC Core spec are now marked as "legacy". Up until now, I've been happily using the Location fields in the Core Spec (Country, State, City, Sublocation), but now I wonder if I should start moving over to use the Extension fields.

What are other folks doing? If you have made the move to using the Extension fields, are there any tips or gotchas that you can share?

Oh, for those who want to refer to the IPTC specs, here's the Specification for both the Core and Extensions.

Geoff,
As an idImager user, you are one of the few people who can even see the new fields. Go with the old fields until the new ones are in common use. Then migrate.
