Location as IPTC and keywords

I've been using keywords, but believe I should be using IPTC feild. Should it be both?
Book 2 suugests IPTC, but then keywords Sydney harbour. Pg 78.
Is there an easy way to switch?
I could search each place keyword, then add that data to the proper metadata field(s).
Do I then delete the keyword once it has no files associated with it?
It doesn't make sense to do the changes "from future ingestions" as I would need to look in two places to find the complete data.

Chris,
In order to transfer the info, make a new place (Australia>NSW>Sydney) and select all images with the keyword Sydney and drag to the location.

I duplicate the location in the keyword, when the image is *about* the place, rather than simply *from* the place.
