I have some massive panorama files that can't be saved as PSD due to the 2GB limit and are therefore PSB.  However, iView doesn't appear to recognize PSBs.  Any ideas?  Would EM recognize them?  Am I finally going to have to make the switch?

Should/Can I convert them to tiffs?  I don't know what file size limits tiffs have.  The files are approximately 18000x9000 pixels with a bunch of layers weighing in at right around 4 GB.

Any ideas?

Drew,
I have some nmassive PSBs as well, and EM can't catalog them (the problem is quicktime, which both applications use).
I have not tested recently, but I think this is still the case.

It's pretty rare that I need to access the largest files, so I've made a scaled down version that EM can read (it's still pretty huge).

I'd say make a TIFF ( or even JPEG) version of the large file that will show up in the catalog.  If it's in the same folder as the master PSB, it will be easy to find in the event you need to PSB.

Brilliant Peter.  I'll do exactly that.

At least the files will still fit in a Bucket though I must say this morning as I was filling buckets with 1 file at a time with a couple weeks of works, it was rather humorous and tedious...

Wishing I was thinking BluRay

Anyway, thanks again Peter.  I look forward to taking a crack at the new book this fall when things slow down a bit.

Drew,
Yeah, PSBs were a big reason I went Blu-ray - the USS Arizona Memorial project generated a 20GB master file...
