Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and to the area of DAM. I'm currently in the process of migrating from Imatch (Windows) to Expression Media 2 (MacOS). I exported all Imatch categories to IPTC categories and then imported them to Expression Media. Among these categories are both events and places, in a dot-separated format.

Is there a way (=script?) to automatically create events and/or places using part of the categories? I have several hundreds of them and I wouldn't like to them by hand...

Thank you very much for your help,

Silviu

Silviu,
Expression Media uses it's own XMP syntax to record the information, not IPTC.  This means that a program like Bridge could do it with a custom script. Or maybe you could remap the data to a different field like keywords.

Applescript could probably do it too.
