My i view media Pro  3.1.3 keeps locking my catalog , Error Message " Choose Save to unlock and update catalog, if catalog is shared with another user choose Save As to make another copy "
Why is this happening and how do I prevent it?

Usually happens when MediaPro has not been closed correctly, it crashed last time with this catalogue. After saving the cat in question it would be a good idea to create a new one, then import from the old catalogue. IME a cat not closed correctly will become corrupt - it's only a matter of 'tomorrow or in four weeks'.

Hi Dierk
Thanks for taking the time to get back to me. ( Dumb Question ) What am I doing wrong when I close my catalog?

Lou,
The program is supposed to delete the "lock" file once the catalog has been closed and before the program quits.
THis would seem to indicate that the program is quitting before the delete happens.

You don't mention your platform.

BTW, it has not been my experience that this is a precursor to catalog corruption. I've found it to be pretty common with EM, and have not experienced corrupted catalogs anytime recently. (knock wood)
