I have been using I View Media Pro 3 for one week with a crash or two a day and sometimes my G5 freezes as well and I have to hard close it. I have over 6 gigs of ram and I'm only running Iview and reading this forum, is it the forum? Just kidding...... anyone have a solution? I have been reorganizing my legacy files all 25000 of them and that could be the problem I suppose.

While I'm venting...Could someone tell me why when transferring files in IView, I occasionally get a warning that my access privileges are denied and how to prevent this?

Cheers

This is probably better on the iview forum.

How big are your catalogs?

Do you ever run permissions repair in Disk Utility?

Do  you have the latest version of Iview? I've heard that catalogs can become corrupted--you might want to try making a new catalog and see if  you have the same problem. How much free space do you have on your boot drive?

By the way, it's commonly known as the "spinning beachball of death."  Roll Eyes

OK, posted the same question on the IView forum: http://www.iview-multimedia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4097
I just upgraded today and I have only crashed one time! The whole problem motivated me to get Chronsync and DiskWarrior, something I suppose I needed to get eventually.  Alas the learning curve just gets steeper. I do want to say that i really like The DAM Book, I have made every photographer I know buy it.
