Marc,

I installed 3.2.04 today and attempted to ingest a set of 21 images. I was not successful. IIP completes the pre-ingestion backup and then quits (IIP does create the primary ingestion destination folder). It is repeatable in that three attempts to ingest had the same result.

My system:

Mac OS X 10.5.4
Dula 2 GHz PowerPC G5
3 GB RAM

If I can provide any other info please let me know.

UPDATE: I tried ingestion with another set of images and the ingestion was successful. So I will try a few tests with the problematic image set to see if I can find a problem image file. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

SteveM

Please email the main-window log and external log, Steve.

Also, can you expand on what you mean by "quits"? Was there an alert that popped up? If so, maybe you can capture the details and send them as well (instead of sending them to Apple).

Marc,

I uncovered the problem.

I often copy my images to a hard drive, and then set the source for ingestion as the folder on the hard drive. To readily identify the folder I changed the icon from the standard folder icon. This resulted in an invisible file residing in the folder, with a file name of "Icon". The file has no extension. When I removed this file the ingestion proceeded with no issues. As this file has no extension, there does not appear to be a way to exclude it form the ingestion.

Upon quitting the OS X application unexpectedly quit dialog was presented.

I can still send the logs if you like. If I had to guess it would be that the DNG converter is choking on the Icon file (which was being copied to the pre-backup folder).

Let me know how you would like to proceed.

Thanks,

SteveM

Yes, Steve, the logs would still help. You should have gotten a more graceful exit.

Marc,

I've mailed off the logs.

I noted in my email that when I set the file handling preset to include only specific file types, I do not have the problem.

Thanks again and let me know if I can provide any more info.
