I see the Linksys network 2 bay NAS device on sale for about $100.00. I know that most people say stay away from NAS. Is this any solution for temporary storage until a Burly system is purchased? Can the drives used in a linksys NAS set up be removed and plugged into a PM JBOD, or will these disks have different format or structures that would prevent it? If it is linked with an ethernet cord, how much slower is it if the sewrver you run the jbod off of is also linked by ethernet to the working computer? Just wondering if it is worth the temporary solution before moving to a JBOD on my older computer (which I stimate will cost me about $550.00 plus the drives), which is linked to my other computer by an ethernet connection through my wireless router.

Thanks.

Bill,
I think the NAS drives are probably NTFS. Are you on Windows?

I'd think about something like this

with a 1TB drive in it, if I needed to save money
