Hello! Does anyone have word on the state of raw and dng conversion for the D700? Adobe seems to have the 4.5 plug-in that appears to be working somewhat but not fully on the raw converting at least, but the D700 is not in the list of supported cameras so I'm wondering if there will be an official update?  Thanks, SARAH

My guess:

The latest update supports the Olympus E 420 and E 520.  D700s just went on sale.  You can figure about 2 months, plus or minus, for the D700.  I think this has always been the pattern.

No, it'll be quicker than that. There is preliminary support already - ie support that may be adjusted .

John,

I just saw your link to the The Lightroom Queen, as you said, there is unofficial support of the D700 now in LR.

Mark

I thought it I had seen it was already official, but I couldn't find where I'd seen that. Whatever, it's pretty advanced.

John- post in the comments on the LR Blog by Tom Hogarty re D700--

Nice, but no D700 support?

Can you shed some light on the process of adding support for new cameras to LR?

[The D700 is supported but we could not declare "official" support because we didn't have time for in-house testing with a production model before this release was finalized. I don't expect any difference between the current support and final support but we have fairly strict quality rules that prevent official declaration until certain tests are performed. -TH]

Thanks for checking! The good news is that the 4.5 raw & DNG converter does indeed seem to be working now - what I thought was not working was just some changes. The D700 is just not "officially"  supported on the Adobe website.

Best,

Old news now (by a few days...), but camera raw plug in v4.6 - now available and supporting the D700! - Sarah
