Today, Convert Image Files has started to garble my filenames (IVMP on Windows Vista). The actual and converted file names are things like:

208-15-0001.dng  -->  208-15~1.jpg
208-15-0264.dng  -->  20A2E5~1.jpg

This is reminiscent of the IVMP bug with QuickTime where catalog names got converted to 8-character names; here, IVMP seems to be limiting the converted filenames to 8 characters as well.

I have been using QuickTime 7.4.1. Just a week or two ago, this all worked fine.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling IVMP, as well as upgrading to QuickTime 7.5, but the problem persists. Any ideas?
