Reading through this forum it seems that there is a kind of consensus about Iview/EM being the closest to the perfect DAM software. What is missing to Idimager to really compete ?

Mac compatibility.  Well, that's my narrow perspective on it anyway Grin.

I second the requirement for Mac compatibility. We Mac users really need other DAM alternatives, in case EM version 2 turns out to be a dog.

Does Idimager catalog files other than images? If it doesn't, that would be one downside. I'm on Macs, too, by the way.

Hi,

Has anyone tried IDimager on Mac using Parallels or CrossOver?

Hi Hert,

Thanks for the link. I tried CrossOver and kept getting mem errors. Parallels may work and users on your forum indicated it did. Maybe Windows apps will run native on Mac one day.

Cheers.

-- Robert.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to successfully run my IDImager catalog on either Parallels or Fusion.  I had been on Windows XP happily using IDImager until I switched to an iMac and would love it if Hert were able to port IDI over to run natively on Mac.
