Hi All,
After reading Peter's book, I am now firmly in the DAM bucket camp!  Thank you Peter for a wonderful organizational tool.  Now, for my question.  I am using LightRoom 1.3.1 as my DAM tool.  I am using BreezePro to down load to a folder on my C drive.  After I keyword and rank the photos and make general changes, I then save to  my DNG bucket closing when it approaches 3 gb so I can burn to a DVD.  My question is should I save as DNG lossless compression or not.  I tried today and the non-compressed files are two to three times the size of the compressed, natch.  Will there be any repercussions down the road if I compress??  Many thanks to all, I have learned bunches by lurking!!  Best,  Bob

Bob,
I don't think there is a downside to compressing the files.

Thanks for the response Peter.  I hadn't noticed until this past weekend that everything was compressed!!  I have read the DAM book once and have gone back over several sections more than once.  Love the concept, and have implemented the buckets for my personal workflow.  Even though I don't earn my living doing photography, I have the need for the organization and love the safety of the multiple backups.  Thanks again for a great book, and hopefully I will have a chance to attend one of your seminars and get an opportunity to meet you.  Best,  Bob
