Problem:  Bridge has file info grayed out for a PSD layered file and says metadata can't be written to the file. Yet file was originally raw NEF, had basic metadata template added on ingesting with CS3 "Get photos from camera" command. Flattened TIF and JPEg versions made from this file show all metadata, star ratings in Bridge and key words. If opened in PS3, file info shows all metadata, key words. What am I doing wrong?

Jeff,

Are you sure the file is not write protected.  Can you make changes to it and save the changes.

Or perhaps the file is open in Photoshop at the same time.  This will stop Bridge from writing metadata.
