keyword/lacation & other annotations spelling

can DAM software like Expression media, & other programs like windows vista do a keyword search & find files where the keywords I annotated to them were misspelled? My spelling is not the best & sometimes my finger hits the wrong key on my keyboard, like a keyword; apple, I may have mistakenly typed sapple. I spell correctly most of the time, but there may be an occasional mispelled word. Before I back up my buckets to DVD, do I need to go through each folder & individual photograph in Expression media & check my keyword spelling? or is it ok if some maybe misspelled?

Sossity-
I am pretty sure that the 'sapple' example would be found by a search of 'apple', because the quick search returns keywords that include the search term. ('sapple' contains 'apple' in it). I don't think a misspelling like 'appl' or aple' would be found in a search of 'apple'.
Another thought: You could use the Organize section, and scroll through your Keywords. If you found 'sapple', you could select all the images that had 'sapple', and correct the error in all the images at one time. I periodically scroll through the Organize Keywords as part of a 'tidying up' process- sometimes I get the singular/plural thing inconsistently handled, or just decide that I don't need a particular keyword reference. I can make my corrections to the relevant images quickly this way.

It depends on the specific application's search implementation.
I don't know how Expression works but in Portfolio you can do searcher for exact matches or "contains" matches (but not for misspelled). Spelling is a real issue with keywording. Portfolio does not have any spell check (and I don't think Expression does).
One way to get around it is to Export your keywords to a text file. Open the text file in a spell-check capable software (e.g. Word). Do a spell check. Then Import the corrected keywords into the DAM.

Sossity,
In IDimager Pro you can use phonetic searching ("sounds like" searching). This basically means that you will find mis-spelled keywords/catalog labels. Aple will return Apple; or visa versa.
If you are using your keywords for external application as well (like photo sharing sites, stock agencies, etc) then I'd be extra careful about typos in your keywords and double check them or even use a controlled covabulary like controlledvocabulary.com.
If you are keywording for personal use then phonetic searching may be of help.
