DNG converter and Nikon D300 nef files

I thought I had done this in the past, but today I get an error from DNG Converter that it "can not parse file" - this happens only for the D300 nef files. Is this a problem that others are having? I'm thinking that I have converted this type of file in the past.

To follow up from the posting of yesterday. I am using a windows XP computer with 2 gb RAM and DNG convereter (version 4.2) will not convert my D300 nef files. I downloaded the most recent version yesterday while having this problem.
I have found though camera raw will convert the raw files so I was able to make DNG's last night. It was a little tedious converting multiple projects, each in a separate directory, but I did get it done last night.
