Windows Vista SP1 (Service Pack 1) appears to have solved the original problem I posted about here -- I can now import JPG, TIF, and PSD files into IVMP from hard drives attached to my RAID controller on my WIndows Vista system.

(Not sure if it's any different with EM. I'm not inclined to switch to EM before I can evaluate the upcoming new release that's now in beta.)

Ralph,
Have you seen any other fixes (or new bugs) with SP1?

No other bugs fixed/introduced that I'm aware of. If you'd like me to check for a particular bug, let me know.

I am tempted to say that iView on SP1 seems more responsive -- although that's a subjective judgment and I haven't tested it with a stopwatch. But ever since I switched to Vista, the catalog seemed sluggish in a lot of ways. That seems to have improved with SP1. (Cognitive dissonance? Stockholm Syndrome?  Wink)

In fact, I just opened my original 1.3 GB catalog. It had been so sluggish (and I was worried I might reach some size limit where it would break) that I split it into smaller catalogs. That original catalog no longer seems sluggish to me. In fact, now I'm kind of annoyed that I spent so much time splitting it, because in terms of workflow I prefer a single catalog. Of course, hard to say what other gremlins might have been at work. I'm not too inclined to uninstall SP1 and see if it goes bad again. (But I am curious.)

iView leverages a lot of system resources to do its work.  It would not be surprising that a system upgrade could offer increased performance.
