Will Microsoft ever support nikon users?

I am quite frustrated that Microsoft is not supporting Nikon D300 / D3 users.  On the Microsoft Media Expressions forum they have made it clear that there is no time line when support will be available.  Does this mean they just want to kill this product or are they serious about having a quality professional DAM?  I really like the Iview architecture for my workflow but unfortunately I am now forced to look at something else that will support my Nikon NEFs.   Is this something that will take months or years?  I'm curious what other Nikon users are doing in the meantime?

I just recieved my D3 this afternoon and haven't shot anything worth downloading as of yet.  Hopefully that will change tomorrow morning.  In any case, I am planning on continuing with a DNG workflow that I am continuing with my legacy D2X and D100 files.  Takes care of that specific support issue...

You are aware that Microsoft - to be precise: the Expression Media development team - is working closely with Nikon to create better support for Nikon products than competing [that is, with xMedia] applications? While I thnk that the development cycle of xMedia is pathetic, I still believe their team and some associate members in alpha testing et al. They are working on it, they are working hard on it.
