I have a Catalog with NEF and CR2 files mixed in.  I want to convert just these files to DNG's.  Using the DNG converter as a helper application did not work because it opens a new instance for every file, and also wants to convert the whole folder which contains the RAW file.
Using Photoshop as a helper works on 50 files at a time which must be some limit in Expression media. The RAW files open  50 at a time in Adobe Camera Raw can then be converted to DNG.  This will work, but it will take some time converting them 50 at a time.
Any Ideas?

Mike,
Do you have a Mac in the house to test with.  A quick test here shows that iVIew can pass multiple images off to a single instance of the DNG converter.  I know this is a little trickier on Vista.

I already took the time to do them 50 at a time using Photoshop as the helper which opened them in ACR.  I did run into one instance were 50 would not open, so I'm not sure what is causing the limitation. I'll need to do this again on a grander scale, so I'll try running it across the network on a Mac. Sounds like an extreme solution, but it might work:
1. Select RAW files from a Mac Expression Media.
2. Use DNG converter as helper application to Open the files and XMP across the network from a Vista Machine to a Mac.
3. Convert to DNG
4. Write them back across the Network.
I'll give it a try and see if Pigs really can fly!
