We've created a version of RapidFixer that can read and write Lightroom Snapshots. We're looking for a few RapidFixer CS3 customers who would like to test it out.  Send me email off list if you're a current customer, and you would like to give it a whirl.

We'll have something to send out very soon.

All other RapidFixer Customers will get information on how the upgrade will work very soon.

Okay, we finished it today (at least finished enough to go out in beta.)  We're thinking about calling it RapidSnapper, or SnapshotMaker, or maybe Lil' Snappy

Even though the program does not even have a name, here's what it does:

It can read and write Lightroom snapshots in Bridge
It can create snapshots for entire folders of images
It can swap out settings for single images, multiple images, or an entire folder full of images
It offers a controlled vocabulary tool for naming snapshots.

We've also figured out how we can make a time-limited demo of the script.

I'll post a movie soon.

Happy NewYear.

Peter,

this looks very promising! I was wondering if it would be possible to add a pictogram to the thumbnail that indicates if an image has (several) snapshots included? Something like the little pictogram Bridge adds to the thumbs once an adjustment is done in ACR.

It would be even more awesome if Hert could make these snapshots visible in IdImager... Wink

Erwin,
We can't do what you ask.  But we can have Bridge write a keyword to the file that says something like _snapshot - BW Final.

This way the images with snapshots could be filterable in Bridge.  Other applications could also be able to identify which images have snaps.

Hi there, Peter!

I was just peeking into the forum today to see if there are any updates to RapidFixer, and saw this thread. Are you still looking for beta testers?

Brian,
We will soon. We have identified a few cool additions to the program, and should have a beta very soon. We'll post it for download once it's done.

(Due to a new configuration, we can make a fully-functioning demo available for download.)

Stay tuned.

Chris,
Thanks for the reminder.  Been pretty insanely busy here, and it's just slipped.  Let me get something posted as soon as I can.

Chris,
Okay, I've uploaded it to the Links page of theDAMbook.com

http://www.thedambook.com/pages/links.html

Instructions:

Click on the link, this should download a jsxbin file.
Open Bridge Preferences, go to startup scripts
Click the Reveal button
Place the script in the folder
Relaunch Bridge, click okay, when it asks to load

Now you can use it.
Get an image adjusted the way you like (or several images, or a folder of images)
Right Click on the image(s) or Folder and go to Snapshots>Save Settings As...>New...
Make a new snapshot name (Like final Color or B&W Proof
A Snapshot is created, as well as a keyword for the snapshot

You can recall the snapshot by Right Click>Snapshots> (select the snapshot name)

Let me know how it works for you.
