Ok, had to step away from this for a bit, but ready to make myself understood now Wink

Here's my workflow:
import from card to LR
rotate verticals (there is no in camera rotation with this camera)
add metadata
export to DNG to another folder
in IVMP, where this above mentioned folder already exists, i update it in order to import these files into IVMP for the first time

What I see:
in IVMP the metadata that i added in LR is not visible
the files are not rotated
the files are flipped on their axis showing them backwards
the finder thumbnails are also not rotated
the finder thumbnails are also flipped on their axis showing them backwards
PS and LR show everything properly

But if i open one of these DNG's from IVMP into ACR and choose from the flyout menu "Update DNG previews" and then rebuild the file in IVMP:
the file is now oriented correctly in IVMP (both rotation and axis)
the finder thumbnail is still improperly rotated and backwards
the metadata is still not visible in IVMP
the metadata is visible when the file is opened in PS & LR

I pray i've made myself and this mess clear but since i cannot for the life of me figure out how to make the bullets work on this forum i just might not have...  Wink

Lauren,
When you first import into Lightroom, are you converting to DNG, or are you only doing the DNG conversion after the Lightroom work?

What versions of Lightroom and iView are you using?

In LR i am working on RAW files and then when i export out of LR it is then that i am converting to DNG.

I am using LR 1.2 and IVMP 3.1.3

Lauren/Peter-
After entering metadata for RAWs I always use Metadata>Update Metadata to File, AND in the case of  DNGs use Metadata>Update DNG Preview & Metadata. I do not use Automatically Write Changes to XMP!
