Using iView 3.13 on Win XP SP2, I have always had this problem and it's getting quite frustrating. Basically if I am editing the keywords of a single (or multiple) images and try to delete 4 or more keywords, iView crashes immediately. I don't have a chance to "apply" my edits by hitting return or clicking the "Tick" (confirm) icon, the crash occurs as soon as i press delete on the 4th keyword.

Deleting one, two, or three keywords seems OK - it's almost always the fourth. Sometimes I just get a **BLANK** error dialog and can continue in iView, but typically I am thrown immediately to the desktop with a standard "iView encountered an error..." screen.

Anyone else have this problem?

I have had a similar problem when adding keywords to numerous images with iViewMediaPro on a Mac system. Often I get a spinning wheel before it crashes, and I lose everything since the last save. I have tried rebuilding the catalogs, as well as reinstalling a fresh copy of the software. I finally resigned to entering keywords in Bridge or Lightroom.

Frederik,
How do you add the keywords?  I typically do it in the organize panel.
Select images
Right-click on the keyword
Apply to Selected Media Items

I do not remember this causing any crashes.

Peter,

I'm on the trial period of Iview Pro Media and am having the same problem.  To answer your question, I'm using the Controlled Vocabulary Keyword Catalog and when I find an appropriate string of keywords, I hit enter.  This puts them into Iview as individual keywords, but not yet saved.  Then I click on each one that is not appropriate to delete or remove them from this image and that is when the program crashes.

Obviously there are other ways to enter keywords, but I don't see a faster or easier way to use the CVKC with Iview.  Would love to hear about other ways to integrate both.

I have this from time to time; thought I have it down to a specific way of adding and deleting keywords [still a hypothesis]:

- open the Organise panel, select a word
- enter several keywords with multiple terms [i.e. an entry for office building from the CV]
- hit enter to make the line of terms into single entries
- delete one term, immediately put in a new term into the still open field
=> crash with an error message dialogue, which is empty except for the white cross on red circle and an OK button

I cannot remember any of my crashes being related to the number of keywords I delete or [re-]enter - and the last instances are only a few days away.

Should be possible to test my hypothesis, David, John, Robert?!
