Thanks for the book and the rare linear logic regarding file organization!

I've got an old G4 running OS 10.4.4 that I'm in the midst of setting up as a server (headless-no monitor). Do you have any reccomendations as to how one would go about administering it?

I'll be networked via 8 port gig-ethernet switch and Cat 6 cables to a couple of Mac G5s and a couple of G4s.
The issue for me is powering up/down and configuring preferences, etc..

Do you have any links for info? I can't find much. I've heard about software called VNC but prefer to keep it simple. I'm a photographer not an IT engineer, though of late I'm wondering about the distinction....

I just have a cheap monitor on mine, and administer it just like it was a regular G4.  Why not do this?  Sounds like you may be making it unnecessarily complex.

 I appreciate your quick reply. I'll go that way with a small spare monitor.. It would be nice to administer the server from one of the client desktops. When time permits, I'll look into that and if appropriate report back here.
