Mantra (real name?)
I know that we have a bit of a language barrier here, but we really need more than you give us to help. What's best for one user will not be best for another.
Since you've tested iView, Lightroom and Aperture, perhaps you could be more clear about what you need. Keep in mind that around here we like people to do a bit of research on their own before asking too many questions.

Have you tried IDimager V4 (beta)? That will automatically catalog your metadata (including Exif) as well.
http://forum.idimager.com/viewtopic.php?t=3993
Or the direct setup file:
http://v4beta.idimager.com/downloads/setup_IDimagerPro_Desktop_V4.exe
Hope that helps

Hi Giovanni,
Yes this is only available in the beta. The official V3 doesn't have the option to browse through the metadata. V4 its current state is near the end of development and is already more stable than the official V3.5.1 release.

To prevent the forum software from going nuts I'll paste a large screenshot of the expanded catalog tree that displays both the F-Number (Aperture) and the ISO metadata.
When you click on any entry, you'll get all images with that value. This is quite fast and will display a node with 5000 images in less than one second.
You can see the checkboxes at the far left of every node. There you can select multiple values and when you press Enter you'll get a combined result. This way you can get all images with ISO 200 and Aperture F2.8 and exposure time1/640 sec. Optionally you can also combine catalog labels (keywords) to get something like "all sunset images with ISO 800 and Aperture F11 and exposure time of 15 sec and lens 24-105 mm".
Hope this gives a better impression.

Yes, you can use a V3 license in V4 beta.
Customers that bought IDimager on or after September 1st *2006* receive a free license upgrade to V4.

No, the free version (IDimager Lite) is V3.5 and the Exif browser is new in V4.

Not having used the recent versions of IDimager, I can't comment on how they compare to ACDSee Pro 2. But I can verify that Pro 2 does what I think you are asking about - giving you easy ways of viewing, for example, all photos shot at ISO 200. There is a search facility for more complex types of operations, but the "Auto Categories" facility does what you describe very simply - the interface looks very much like what was posted for IDimager.
Whether ACDSee Pro 2 makes more sense than IDimager is going to depend on how you intend to integrate the tool into your workflow. From what I have seen on these forums, IDimager has been at the forefront of providing features specifically designed to work well in conjunction with Bridge and Photoshop in implementing the DAM Book workflow. On the other hand, ACDSee Pro 2 was designed to provide more of an all-in-one RAW processing, cataloging, and image editing environment a la Lightroom. So while they might comparable in many ways, the right choice will probably depend on how you plan on using the tool in your DAM strategy.

Hi Giovanni,
You can change the password in the application by selecting Help -> Change password
If you don't have a need for a password then you can add the login details as application command parameters. The help file, Appendix B describes how to do that.

That would be very welcome. You could send me a mail at
support@idimager.com
to discuss this further. I don't think this is the right platform for that.
@Marc; Thank you for the input on the new ACDSee. Fyi; IDimager V4 has evolved in many respects compared to V3. If you are open to give IDI a new test run then please feel free to contact me through PM or mail. I would be more than willing to assist you where ever I can.
