Filename to Title script for Adobe Bridge CS3

The "Filename to Title" script is great in Adobe Bridge CS3. It is a real time saver since I have a ton of files to edit IPTC data. The only problem is that the title also includes the extension. Is there any way of altering the script to not include the extension and keep only the filename. I am not a programmer, so when I tried to fiddle with it I didn't have much luck. Thanks to all for any help.
