I have been backing up my raw files however I got the DAM book and have been thinking of DNG as my preferred 'archive' format. I personally prefer C1P as my converter and recent changes in C1P (ability to process DNGs) may allow me to use the best of both worlds. Now the questions -

1. I converted my raw files to DNG with raw embedded, everything looks fine in both C1p and ACR.
2. If I convert to DNG only the colors look totally different in C1P whereas ACR is ok.

Why is this happening?

Prashanteju (name?)

I don't know what the implementation of C1 pro is, so I can't comment directly.

The rendering of the two files should *not* match.  Each has its own rendering engine that interprets the file differently. That's why you chose C1, right?

There should not be a difference in how the files are rendered given an embedded raw.  The application should be reading from the msaiced data in the DNG file, not the embedded raw.

Are you sure you're not talking about:
• Embedding the Preview or
• Preserve Raw data vs Linearize
