Sonce we sent out notice for the RapidFixer CS3, I've gotten several inquiries about Rank and File.  Here's the status:

Due to the Bridge issues we ran into for RapidFixer, the promised upgrade took considerably longer than we thought.  It was worth it, in my opinion, for the excellent new ACR controls, as well as the ability to work with TIFF, DNG and JPEG.  We raised the price by $10, but all past customers got the upgrade for free.

We never promised a Rank and File upgrade, but have plans to make one.  Since the metadata capabilities for CS3 have not changed, there is no great need to rework functionality.  We will look at updating the "under the hood" stuff, so that it ca take advantage of new scripting hooks in Bridge, but, again, we are not promising an upgrade.

I have been using Rank and File Lite on CS3 on a Mac Pro tower, and see the following behavior.  The Labels are correctly converted to Keywords, but the Stars are not being translated to Urgency.  It works almost instantly now.  Since the most critical function for me is getting the Label information into iView, Rank and File Lite is doing the job reasonably well. (This machine is a little flakey with Bridge, so I'm not sure if the problem is the script or the Bridge Installation).

I have had a number of reports that Rank and File works fine on CS3, and would be interested in hearing ay other feedback.

I'm trying to convince Beardsworth to collaborate on a Metadata Processor, which would be like the big-boy version of Rank and File, but we have both been busy and the future of that is uncertain.

In any case, an upgrade of Rank and File would likely not be a free upgrade, whether it included new functionality or not, except for recent purchasers.

Hello,
using Rank and File for the first time with bridge CS3, I´ve the following problem:
All my pictures now have 3 Stars attributed even if the got 1,2 .... or 5 Stars (in the Preview).
Concerning the keywords, everything is correct, a 4 Star Picture for example is 1*,2*3*4*.
Need some help.Thanks.

Peter,

I just switched to the Mac and am re-installing all my software.  Has the Rank & File plugin been updated to work with CS3 yet?  I did some searches but did not find any answers.

Thanks
Neville
