I want to start again. I've played around, and now have my keywords and hierarchy as I want it.
How do I remove the words already present in jpegs RAW and DNG files?
If I start a new catalogue in LR or iVMPro or eM (don't know which yet!) the old keywords are still in the photos.
I intended to start a new catalogue, but must have exported data wrongly.

Are you sure you want to do this? OK, if you are happy to blitz everything, including copyright, title, captions etc, I'd do it through iView. First start a new catalogue and import all the images. Now, , use Actions > Clear Annotations, and Sync back to the files.

That should work for the jpeg and dng files as they contain metadata inside the file. Depending on what you've done before, it may also be true of the raw files too, but for them you will also have to kill off any xmp files. But that would also wipe any ACR settings.

If you want to blitz keywords only, I suspect Lightroom's easier (it may be possible to use a metadata template in iView and certainly a script would do it). Import them all and then use the Keywording panel to set an empty keyword. Then Ctrl/Cmd S to write back the corrections.

Proceed with caution!
