Not sure if this is covered in earlier posts....
Once I make adjustments to the RAW files in ACR, which is usually
600 at a time, I click 'Done', and watch the spinning percentage wheel.
Once the wheel in bridge (lower left corner) is done, the thumbnails themselves
don't seem to show the changes in ACR that I just did to them.  At point are thumbnails
in bridge updated? Is it safe to convert to DNG even if the previews in Bridge are showing
the changes but the percentage wheel has stopped?

Brian,
Bridge first writes to the files, then updates the cache, so theoretically it would be fine.
I have found that Bridge will sometimes crash when you back up too many tasks.
Personally, I'd wait for the cache to build.

Peter -- I think what bslanger is seeing (and I sometimes see) is that after adjusting a batch of images in ACR and clicking done, Bridge finally indicates it's done, but it never adjusts the thumbnails to reflect the edits. If I double-click on a single thumbnail to open again in ACR, the edtis are there. WHen I close that ACR dialog for the single image, the Bridge thumbnail then updates (to what it should have shown after ACR adjusted multipe images).

The only solution I've found for this is to purge the cache for that folder so that all the thumbnails are rebuilt. It seems like (yet another) bug in Bridge 2.1.

To verify my thumbnail settings that I stated above, I started Bridge, went to Edit > Preferences, and viewed my thumbnail settings. I then clicked OK (even though I hadn't changed anything). I immediately get the message, "Adobe Bridge has encountered an error and needs to close. We are sorry for the invonvenience." Another Bridge 2.1 bug. (Happens repeatably, but it doesn't happen if I click Cancel in Preferences instead of OK.)   Sad

Ralph,
Sounds like time to reset preferences and clear cache.
