Import from Camera: Installation Problem

Can someone tell me why "Import from Camera" doesn't show up in the Bridge TOOLS MENU? The files show when I press REVEAL in Preferences.
Thanks,
Randy

Randy,
Did you unzip the file (is it named this: ImportCamera_BR.jsx)?

Hi Peter. Yes, the unzipped file in seen in "Reveal". I see the folder named "Import from Camera" along with four other .jsx files. When I open the "Import . . . " folder, there are 6 files, one of which is "ImportCamera_BR.jsx". What do you think is wrong? Love your book. Hit me at the right time. Randy

As I recall, you also need the three Library scripts as well. THey should all be part of the same download on DAMuseful.com

This is what I have: When clicking on REVEAL, there are 5 items - a folder named Import from Camera and files named: AdobeStockPhotos.jsc, bridge.jsx, ols.jsx, and photoshop-9.jsx. When I double-click that Import from Camera folder, it shows 6 files: .DS_Store, AdobeLibrary1.jsx, AdobeLibrary2.jsx, AdobeLibrary3.jsx, IFC_Read_Me.rtf, and ImportCamera_BC.jsx
Import From Camera is still missing from the tools menu. What to do?
Thank you,
Randy

The .jsx files need to be in the startupscripts folder, but NOT in a subfolder. Take the subfolder and the Read_Me out of that folder. Then it will work.

I'm having the save problem on a laptop where IFC script once appeared in the tools menu. I've followed the above steps with no success but I don't have a .DS_Store file available. Any ideas aside from a reinstall of CS2? My other scripts, RankandFile and RapidFixer are also missing from their usual menu places.
Thanks,
Chuck

Chuck just emailed me to say that trashing preferences fixed the problem.

Hi there. I, too, am having trouble installing the Import from Camera script, though my trouble is different from Randy's. I can't find the Bridge Startup Scripts folder. I'm on a Mac, using OSX Panther and Bridge v 2.1.1.9. When I open Preferences and view the "General" panel, I see nothing resembling a "Reveal" button.
A search of the general and user-specific Library folders does not turn up any Bridge Startup Scripts folder. Neither does a search of the user-specific Documents folder. Both of the Library folders contain likely looking paths (Application Support > Adobe > Bridge CS3 Extensions > ?). But both are dead ends.
I can't think of any other obvious places to look, and am frustrated about the missing "Reveal" button as well.
