I have been using Image Ingester Pro, and it's great, but sometimes need a workaround.   I need to use the Filename to Title for re-naming issues, and II works for that.  However, when I have a corrupted card, I can't use II and then I have to manually go through the steps that II did after recovering the files with Photorescue.   I do still need to get the Filename to Title though, and the script does not work in CS3.   CS2 is so incredibly slow for that using the Filename to Title script.  Is there any other way to get Filename to Title in CS3?  I know Rank and File Lite will do that, but I don't think that's done yet for CS3.  (Using a Mac Pro, 7gigs RAM).

Brian,
We shuld have the DAMuseful scripts ready very soon.

In the meantime, there is a way to have IIP put the filename in the title field.

Open IIP Preferences
Go to File Naming
Show the Macro
Copy the text out of the Macro.
Open your Basic metadata template
Paste the Macro in to the Title field of the metadata template

When you run the script, you should get your filename in the Title field.

Regarding Peter's post: That's right, and with the new metadata template design, first appearing in 2.3.01B5 for the Mac, it's even easier, because you can do the whole thing in IIP.

Cool!  Thanks for sharing that Peter.  Never occured to me.  But of course, I guess I won't need to do that but for another ten days or so, right Marc ;-).

Yes, that's a very cool way to use the macros in IIP.  Thanks for that tip!

What about getting "filename to Title" for images that have already been ingested?  I've been prepping images for uploading to PhotoShelter and want users to be able to search for the filename.  But I just realized that the filename isn't a user searchable field on the PhotoShelter site so I'm trying to get the filename copied to IPTC Title field for a bunch of files that have already been processed.

I'm on a Mac and use IVMP, IIP, LR, and CS2.

Thanks,

Andy H.

You not seen my filename to title script (for Bridge)? It's somewhere on Peter's site and is on my own one too.

John,

That was the ticket!  Thanks for directing me there.

While searching the forum I saw this thread but wasn't able to track down all the pieces so for anyone who comes to this after me a couple of notes:
  • Make sure that you have the Adobe Library scripts (which I found on Peter's site as discussed at the above thread) installed in the scripts folder.  The menu items appeared under Tools in Bridge but didn't do anything until I loaded the Adobe Library scripts.

Thanks again, John!
